Business Management Level 4

Course Summary

The aim is to provide high-quality learning opportunities through flexible qualifications at level 4 that prepares  for progression  to more in depth  study at this level or to higher level study, or within a first line manager role.The objective is to develop theoretical concepts relating to business management studies which can be examined externally and which focus on the breadth and depth  of managing  modern  business environments,  in both generic and specific areas.

Entry Requirments

The Qualifications have been designed to be accessible without artificial barriers that restrict access and progression. Entry to the Qualifications will be through centre interview, and the candidates will be expected to hold the following :

  • Learners who have demonstrated some ability and possess Qualifications at Level 3, for example, ‘A’ Levels or vocational awards;
  • Learners who have spent some time in an organisational role and shown they have capability and drive to develop
  • Learners seeking further professional development and gain work-related skills and know-how.

 

Assessment

Each unit within the qualification is assessed through an assignment. Assignment tasks will be written in a way to make them realistic ‘work-related’ tasks wherever possible. Knowledge, understanding and application will need to be demonstrated by Learners. Original thought, problem solving and recommendations on actions will also be asked for from the Learner where appropriate for the unit. Intellectual rigour will be expected appropriate to the level of the Qualification.

 

Intended Course Learning Outcomes:

The learners will be able to:

  • apply analytical and evaluative techniques and to enhance those skills;
  • investigate issues and opportunities;
  • develop their awareness and appreciation of managerial, organisational and environmental issues;
  • use management techniques and practices in imaginative ways;
  • make use of relevant information from different sources;
  • develop and encourage problem-solving and creativity to tackle problems and challenges;
  • exercise judgement, own and take responsibility for decisions and actions; and
  • develop the ability to recognise and reflect on personal learning and improve their personal, social and other transferable skills.
